My name is Teresa Buendía. I am from Cuenca, a beautiful city in the Castilla-La Mancha region of Spain. One of my greatest passions is teaching my native language as an essential part of my country’s customs and culture. I am a Primary Education teacher specializing in English, and I am also certified in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (E.L.E).
Why do I dedicate myself to helping people like you who want to learn Spanish for professional purposes or in their personal lives?
Let me share my story with you. In 2004, I made a radical change in my professional life. I went from being a primary school English teacher in Spain to working first in the hospitality industry and later in libraries and schools in the United Kingdom. My goal was to fulfill a lifelong dream: to speak English fluently and immerse myself in the customs and culture of the UK.
It was a very rewarding and enriching experience that lasted thirteen years. It also led me to teach Spanish as a foreign language.
Like many teachers, I started by accepting all kinds of students of different levels and ages. However, I soon realized that there were clients I could help the most, thanks to the skills and experiences I gained while leading teams and delivering training courses in my role as a Trainee Manager at a well-known company in the UK.
That was when I realized how rewarding and important it was for me to share my knowledge and help professionals and others learn to speak Spanish. I made the decision to support professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs in learning this wonderful language for both their professional and personal lives. Helping adults gain the confidence and ability to speak Spanish is incredibly fulfilling.
Living abroad helped me discover the best methodology for learning and teaching a new language.
